We've Moved!

For some reason I LOVE doing Moving Cards...

I was in the mood to do one because I am moving! Tommy has bought a house and we're moving into it together! It's an exciting time and cute little house for us to grow. Sampson the wiener dog will love to play in the huge backyard and Dick our fat tabby will love lounging in the big bay window in our living room. Eric our beta fish probably feels neutral since he has a mobile home anyway! No packing for him.

This is a quick illustration of a bee moving on up to the big flowers in the sky! Whoo hoo you go you little bee! Oh they grow up so fast...

Exciting! My Products are out there!

When I worked at Department 56 almost, wow, 7 months ago, I designed here and there as a Product Design Assistant. The ornaments I have designed are finally up on the website for all to see :) Here are specific ones I worked on.

This is the best part of being a Product Designer, seeing your designs in the world. I remember when these guys were just wee little sketches! Now working at Seasonal Specialties as a full-time Product Designer I get to design every single day for Target, Costco, Lowe's, and Menards. Life is GOOD.

Jack in the Beanstalk for U of MN Nursing Program!

Hi there! So I did this in a few hours this weekend. I had the privilege to work with the U of MN Nursing Program and do an illustration for their "Growth and Development" themed gala. This will be on their programs and posters, in a Jack and the Beanstalk decorated room! This was a fun one!

Something I did today for a fun time!

Since I've been freelancing and working part-time at Cap's I've have more time to do personal art! I heard this said somewhere, I thought it was endearing. I've been doing this "grown-up juvenile" style for a while now, and I really enjoy it. I'm going to start doing some more handwritten lettering!!! Thanks for looking :)

Ill Friday

Hi! A little inked sketch I did yesterday. I'm going to do my first Illustration Friday this week, the word to illustrate is "Bottled". So I'm going with the genie in a bottle theme. Final artwork up tonight!

This is my attempt to finally start doing some personal work again, I need to be in tip top shape and fine tune my illo skillz. The problem is: I don't push myself far enough. I love doodles and watercolor, acrylic, digital I can see that my illo's are a little underdeveloped and it's time to kick them up a notch. So this is my oath to myself from today forward that I'm going to push myself until the illustration is final.

Here it is! 15 minutes before it's Saturday! I feel like it's not finished yet, still needs some time, but I'm glad I did it and got it in just in the nick-o-time!

Time Sheet

Made a simple time sheet for my new client/myself. I needed this really bad because I started writing down my hours randomly in my notebook. It's always feels good to be productive and get organized. Typical Virgo...

Oldie

I made this back in the day at Normandale, I want to say in 2005 or 2006. It was for a Painting 1 class, my teacher hated it because she was a real traditionalist and said my lady was too "white"... Well then... Anyway, now it sits in one of my best friends apartments in Fargo being admired every day! So take that Painting 1!

Modernized Rose Pattern

I saw this old 1950's sheet/ table cloth and thought it was lovely. I decided to put my own spin on it, broke out the watercolors and finished it up photoshop. Just a project to keep me busy and interested for a while.

Life is good...

I am healthy, happy, have a great home, a great amazing man friend, a cute dog and fat tabby cat, food in the fridge, a running car, a caring mom, a computer, internet, cable tv, a fun part-time job as a waitress, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from MCAD.... What else could a girl need/want? Well. I need another JOB. It's been a nice break, it's been fun freelancing, creating a website, making business cards, filling orders on Etsy, spending time on me, myself and I. Now I'm just bored. And if you're BORED, you're BORING. That's what I always say. Time to start seriously looking for a new j.o.b.

Meet Me In Paris...

A birthday present for a really good friend of mine, Nikki. She's in love with Paris, so why not give her a Paris painting?! Unfortunately when silver metallic is scanned it will not show very well the original is perfect though. Thanks for looking!
